Human Rights Education Symposium 2012

Human rights education receives growing attention, as its contribution to the implementation of human rights is more and more recognized. Due to the growing awareness of the importance of human rights education for the implementation of human rights, the Centre of Human Rights Education (ZMRB) of the University of Teacher Education Lucerne will try to contribute to a practice-oriented discourse on issues of human rights education with a platform for thorough reflection and discussion in the field of human rights education. 2012 a public Human Rights Education-Symposium will take place on April 28, 2012 on the topic “Educational Materials of Human Rights Education”.

Aims of the Human Rights Education Symposium are that

• participants get to know different materials and are enabled to use them in their educational context;

• educational materials of human rights education and their use are reflected;

• a concrete and practice-relevant contribution to human rights education-practice is provided

• to enhance a  public human rights discourse in a sustainable manner,

• to further an awareness-building on human rights in society,

• to support concrete human rights work,

• to achieve a better implementation of human rights. 

2013 the 9th International Human Rights Forum Lucerne (IHRF) shall discuss in public an actual issue of human rights. More detailed information about the topic and the date of the 9th IHRF 2013 will follow.
